Up Date on Microsoft applications 200 ASSIGNMENT

Just check this out....... there are over 200 Microsoft applications.... How can I ever make a reasonable critique on this monumental task!!!!!..... in one life time??
Well I have a PC so I use one fraction of the world according to Microsoft. From a user point of view it is not as instinctive as Apple systems... I may even get a Mac Book Pro shortly....
But on the Plus side I have a few professional pals back in Fermoy who can maintain my computer, i.e. clear viruses. They sold me the PC and help me greatly. Im getting used to PowerPoint and have evolved through the generational changes at Microsoft, which I had a small understanding of Excel, Outlook, Skype,Media Centre, Word, Office 95,2000, XP,/3/7/10.
If there was no alternative we would be absolutely grateful for the technology at hand. But as with so many things there are alternatives and I learn that Mac generate theAp's and Microsoft copy with a chunkier version. Mac are the innovators.

Introduction to my Blog/ Wild animal calmed at the computer.ASSIGNMENT

For the term  we are about to finish and our time in college I have bolgged continually, i.e. a few days in between Blogs . My confidence has grown and have managed to attach quite a few video clips and web/ URL links. This sheltered practice has been great for my skill base and ability to help others. I do not feel to left out of the IT world now. I am by no means a whiz at this point but I find I do not panic and switch off and I regularly write down all the steps to achieve a particular task. The example that comes to mind is the Photoshop that I posted on this blog. My world is out doing and  providing my skill to those who need help. to do this I have delivered skill to employees with clarity. This time doing the PGCE is enabling me to be ready for another stage in life that of delivering my skills to others and learning the trade of Lesson Delivery. This process has been slow and fast and as my confidence has grown I feel much more ready to be of service next year. I am however very aware of the rate of change in technology and the need to keep up-skiling, so no complacency here!! During this process I have acknowledged our great teacher and my collegues, who I remain eternaly grateful to.... thanks..What I am very excited about is possibly getting a MacbookPro with Dragon Dictate.....yipee!!!! Talk to the machine and it types.... can you imagine....
now you can see my sculpture from a while ago called "Lest We Forget"

Reflective Practice ASSIGNMENT

I am a little worried about putting issues down in type. But they are very real to me. Let me first start by sharing a little of where I am coming from. Previous to starting my PGCE I was working in a care home with about 35 very vulnerable Senior adults most of whom are nearing the end of their lives and have advanced Dimencia/ Alsimers. Naturally enough every employee is cleared with a check through CRB/ or what ever the new initials are. It would be very easy to be taken out of context when discussing clients.
The main issue on placement in college is handling oneself when the learners are so young and half my age. It would be so easy to make an inappropriate comment and be taken out of context.
I have discussed these and other issues with senior staff members. They have told me of stories where they had to turn down students in work situations where body parts were to be copied. The alternative was to get a female member of staff with another to preside over the work. This is with written consent from parents, higher authorities approval in writing, and the student themselves.
Another issue is in relationship to timeliness on placement. Role calls tied in with funding are still fairly ineffective. The course is free except for materials and motivation amongst a good proportion is low i.e. low work ethic. There are times when learners are quite disrespectful and have been shouted at by senior staff and other times when learners ignore calls from staff to return to class and continue on their way to do something else.

The 5 minute lesson plan

I saw a senior lecturer/ administrator with one of these at Jobswell Campus today, so I stopped in my tracks and asked where did you get that from..... It turns out this is about to be adopted as one of the tools shortly here in Carmarthen... you see we are all kinestetic Learners here next to Trinity . It is a a snazzy version of a mind mapping. Thanks to our little network /blog/ Facebook link up we are quite aware of current developments and had seen it a while earlier thanks to Cathy and Sarah

TedTalk review Sugata Mitra Assignment

Review of a TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) Talk Delivery
A generic worry of this great medium is that pier review is critical to keep up the high moral standard of projects presented. The suggestion is to eliminate talks that have no clear basis in science and that there should be no commercial bias/ agenda, to maintain trust, the latter being more difficult to decide upon.ted.com/conversations/2032/who-feels-that-tyed-curation-sh.html This medium, TED Talk, appears to have become the greatest stage on earth, surpassing even World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davros.
TED is part science and part showmanship. The issue is that this balance could go wrong and loose its technology base and thus subtracting from the conversation. There is a tendency that people like Nathan Jurgenson think ‘that TED provides for self-promotion or over-glorification of individuals believing that “at TED everyone is Steve Jobs and every idea is treated like iPad” there is considerable room for caution and improvement with what gets said and how at high profile forums such as TED and whether or not it serves or disrupts the purpose of science.’http://muslim-science.com/is-ted-good-for-science-the-real-talk-on-ted-talks/

With this in mind I have looked at Sugata Mitra TED Talk. I have found him entertaining in his modest delivery. The primary research he is involved with appears to be extraordinary with a very clear message. The message that is delivered offers hope and direction to many ie learners and educators. He presents the idea that young learners (ages 6-12) can unsupervised achieve the same progress as taught pupils via computers in a pod. That is one computer 20 pupils group learning, pier taught. His research is getting approval from pier review slowly and surely. He showed convincing video clips and concluded his delivery in 20 mins and kept his audience throughout.

Ted Talk Sugata Mitra: Kids can teach themselves ASSIGNMENT

 I

1.    The value of mobile technology in teaching and learning. Smart phones in drawing / printmaking and painting are a wonderful addition to the studio. You can alter the tonal value of images into sepia/ black and white which helps when constructing a drawing/ painting / collage. Photo documentation of processes is invaluable when compiling for e- delivery of Art works to Gallery’s and Colleges. This process of documentation along with video is wonderful for sharing and delivery to a media such as You Tube, or a private / closed group. You tube is a wonderful source for learning.  IPads are another super tool for delivery of information in class when required. The level of stored information and access to it when working is incredible. Online and forums within Institutions can make learning cheap. The storage of information is extraordinary when organised. With this mobile technology Kinaesthetic learners are engaged more and more. It is safe to say that mobile technology is a valuable tool in teaching. It is however interesting to note John Hattie, who found in his 81 meta-analysis the impact of computers is positive. Its effect is 0.37 an average influence. The lowest effect is on Mathematics teaching and interestingly this effect size has not changed in 30 years, the time frame of computers.
2.     How technology has changed the way we learn. Scanning devices on phones (Ap’s) that can connect with QR Codes and their equivalent have revolutionised our access to instant information. Ap’s/ web pages for forums. Ap’s are used in class/ lecture to make contributions via reactive ‘white board’. Pinterest is another fabulous resource that will enhance any confident teacher’s repertoire for delivery.  Ted is another great way to catch up with current trends and listen to excellent content of top personnel. It is interesting in Hattie’s study where he says learners learn more in groups when using technology…  ‘But it is still the same clunky brain that has to make strong efforts to learn. As implied earlier, we have yet to see examples of information leaping off the computer screen into a student’s head. It is too easy to confuse information access with genuine knowledge acquisition.’ (Hattie, 2014, p. 199)
This is emphatically the case with Sugate Mitra in the Ted Talk video that I have included with this Blog, above.
‘Nevertheless, underlying principles of preservation, instruction, practice, knowledge acquisition, feedback and application do not vary between traditional instructional contexts and any new world of computer- assisted instruction’ (Hattie, 2014, p. 199).is & It interest to note the works of Chabris  & Simmons (Simons, July 2010)… ‘The basic plan of the brains wiring is determined by genetic programmes and biochemical interactions that do most of their work long before a child discovers Facebook and Twitter. There is simply no evidence to show that living with new technologies fundamentally changes brain organisation in a way that affects one’s ability to focus.’
As a wrap up to this article it is noted that we are adapting to new technologies in an evolving way not revolutionary. We are doing so with our old brain that we have had for some million odd years. The media may vary. The plots and intrigues are ever the same as Shakesphere wrote 400 years ago, but they are ever more accessible through modern technology.
3.    Barriers to effective use of technology in education. Lack of resources to keep up with technology may leave learners behind feeling alienated. The late arrival of resources i.e. SFW in conjunction with DSA has left the author frustrated, especially knowing what is out there. The use of Dragon Dictate elevates a struggling dyslexic/ dyspraxia learner / typist into a 40,000 word dissertation learner with ease of delivery. The rate of change of technology and its expense with no manuals and costly help lines has alienated many, exasperated by poor internet connections. Viruses cause further expense and frustration with computers crashing/ slowing up on a regular basis only to be cleared by professional intervention. Stores/ shops having poor support / help for customers. There is advertising on all media with the giants of the industry ever hungry for personal details to turn into personalised focused advertising. All this type of invasive corporate behaviour confuses learners and impedes their personal advancement. Confusion everywhere, with learning institutions being biased, to various corporate institutions. Aside from teaching learning these days is tending to be a solitary competitive process. This is not good for the human spirit. Learning is not as thorough. If the computer system fails the learner is quite vulnerable. It is hard to get back up especially on weekends.. there are many systems there is at least a lot of double learning, with systems not matching up even within Institutions , e.g. UWTSD.

We are on a winner with mobile and computers generally as 87% of our learning is through our eyes  (Petty, 2009). New images keep the attention of learners as the attention span of learners is getting less and less. We tend to forget that visual aids are best even when delivering the simplest of concepts. Instant access to a vast well of resources that defy the imagination, we need to teach learners how to access trustworthy resources. If we fail to do this we have failed our learners. There is nothing that can’t be researched on the net via mobile technology; QR Codes, Blipper, Barcodes, augmented reality, Nearfield communication (e.g. phone linked to ticketed/ subway passes)

3D Printing meets Bronze Casting Assignment

3D Printing meets Bronze casting; Blending old technology with new

I arrived to learn(pepetual state), a few years ago , to my current placement, for my primary Degree. What attracted me here was the foundry; Iron, Bronze & Aluminium are all cast here on Jobswell Campus , Carmarthen School of Art. My first year in college was spent on crutches due to a riding accident( broken femur). This slowed my foundry progress, so I started to become interested in 3D printing, via Zbrush (Pixalogic). With computers so instinctively alien to me this was slow. However I kept my oar in the water and managed , with lots of guidance, to produce a 3D twice life size British army Helmet, as part of my Degree Show The shape was established and the lettering cut out noting areas/ countries where Loss of life of British Armed service personell, since W.W.2. I even had a QR code!! With two and a half years between then and now, I am dusting down and up dating my computer skills, with Fab. Input from Mandy and my classmates, especially; Tom, Debbie and Dave!!
As an update to this re-emergence of skils I am on Friday tomorrow, goasting a class where old technology meets new.
Let me explain briefly;
. A free 3D sculpted image is picked up on the net
. This is downloaded to college computers
. It is printed on their small 3D printer with a particular plastic.
. This plastic shape is then given runners and risers as is traditional in lost wax.
. The traditional sandcasting process is followed
. The Majic of the local context (C Cr) is that we use bronze ignots and melt them in our furnace in college alongside the cast Iron process, which I will describe in a bit more detail later.

. The First test piece was created at the end of October..... the result...... PERFECT melt out, perhaps even better than wax........EXCITING TIMES

I will keep you posted  after Fridays lesson as I want to make this an important part of my PROFESSIONAL SKILL BASE

Farmer converts car into working sheepdog called Floss - mixed results

With a top speed of 40mph it resembles an exact replica of Dave Isaac's favourite sheep dog

By | Rex Features – 21 hours ago

Set to work as a sheep dog Floss certainly had her advantages. She was quicker than most, always impressed onlookers and the sheep responded well. But farmer Dave Isaac has reluctantly decided she has got to go because she was getting too difficult to handle. She was just too big to get through his farmyard gates and now needs a new home.
And the bizarre experiment of converting his Peugeot estate car into a working sheep dog called Floss has sadly come to an end down on his 180-acre farm.

Despite the disbelieving glances of his neighbours Dave, 46, spent £2,000 covering the family car in fur so it resembled an exact replica of his favourite sheep dog after she died.

With a top speed of 40mph he took his new look sheep dog out into the fields of his farm near Battle, East Sussex with surprisingly encouraging results.
Dave Isaac with his sheepdog car FlossDave Isaac with his sheepdog car Floss

He was delighted when the sheep seemed happy to be rounded up by a much larger animal with headlamps for eyes and an exhaust.

"I know it was a bit of a mad thing to do but it was a tribute to my old sheep dog Floss who passed away. I have three kids and we loved her and as a family we all missed her terribly.

"So I got together with a friend and we built Floss the sheep dog car in my barn, copying as closely as I could every last detail of my old dog.

"Sheep aren't known for their intelligence and didn't seem to notice the difference and were quite happy. We had a charity day on the farm and the car was a big hit," said Dave, who also has a herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle.

The problem arose getting the vehicle, which is not licensed for public roads, along the narrow farm tracks and through the gates to his fields.

And the car, which needed a timber frame built around the chassis to attach the fur, has been taking up too much space in the barn of a busy working farm.

He added: "They were things we didn't really consider when we built her so with a heavy heart she is going on E-bay.

"It's been a lot of fun and she handles well, is obedient and nice and docile and surprisingly aerodynamic. But its back to the tried and tested traditional skills of the sheep dog again."

The farm is a well known landmark in Sussex adjacent to the site where William the Conqueror camped in 1066 the night before the Battle of Hastings.

Mr Isaac hopes Floss the sheep dog car may interest festival organisers or dog charities as a fun car. "As long as she goes to a good home I'll be happy," he said.Funny animals playlist

Lesson Evaluation1

Lesson Evaluation

Learner Group

The lesson was delivered to a group of Adult Learners, with diverse life and work experience and of mixed gender.  They all have completed Third Level Education. They were sympathetic  learners, whose age range is from mid twenties to sixty. I was aware that Adult learners expect to be taught, and to work hard if required.

Type of Teaching that occurred

I believe I delivered the idea that;

Everyone can join in and create this type of Building (Traditional Timber Frame Construction). I showed them images in order to understand the Learning Objectives with the first slide ;

  1. Understand Post& Beam construction
  2. Identify the process in old buildings
  3. Identify the tools involved
  4. Be aware of the types of timber
  5. Be aware of the Personal& Social benefits that the process brings.
I believe that having a Lesson Plan and structure enabled me to stay within the allocated time constraints, and that my points were clearly delivered. I was well supported with many and varied resources. However, I was weak on the type and variety of tasks I planned for learners along with what I believe now to be a weak Teaching Strategy.
  6.
  7. Teaching
  8. When it came to the core of Teaching and its delivery I believe I delivered well on content, aims and had a clear delivery of Lesson Objectives at the start. These 5 points were made on the first Image of my PowerPoint presentation. I also believe the lesson was delivered in an instructive way with plenty of explanations and adequate demonstrations, with sufficient questioning of learners throughout.
Notwithstanding these good points I was low on deliver of Learning tasks and corresponding work groups i.e. no hands on delivery for this. Should the opportunity arise again I would get the learners up to handling the resources. I also believe I had no plan B when it came to teaching strategies or various teaching method approaches. It was my approach without any reference to any other professional delivery. Sometimes there are limits in a Micro Teaching enviornment to the level of teaching aids with time and Health and Safety restrictions. My ending of the lesson could be better as I did not review the Lesson Objectives, neither did I recap or summarise. So plenty to amend and bring on board. Nevertheless I kept a good pace and use of time. I also Had a first rate combined use of a Story Board, PowerPoint and other resources, i.e. books tools and timbers. I have also taken in the need for a scale model of at typical joint in the structure, that learners would get to handle during the delivery of the lesson
    Classroom Management
It is relatively easy to control a group of willing learners as was the case for my delivery. By being organised it made the issues of encouragement and 'vigilant of learners needs' very easy. Therefore it follows that there was a high quality relationship with my learners on the day. Perhaps my transitions from Introduction, to the main Body of teaching then on to Summary could be improved.
I only paid a cursory acknowledgement to assessing the group and have much to learn and develop in relation to this. I did not set any expectation for the learning levels, due to the quality of learners-- In future I could, perhaps start off with a Quiz on paper in Groups. My lesson closure could do with developing, i.e. recap the Lesson Objectives.
Nonetheless my enthusiastic delivery and receiving of same more than made up for the various weaknesses coupled with excellent subject knowledge ensured a good imparting of my Lesson.

Learning Barriers

I did not have many barriers to learning from the group. I was rather apprehensive beforehand due to fear or ICT not working. My plan, to have a Story Board alongside the PowerPoint presentation worked well. I delivered with good clear verbal, visual and physical communication. The story board was partly delivered in the Style of a Mind Map/ Cycle (Petty, 2009, p. 127) The lesson was delivered cognisant of Maslow's Triangle; Hierarchy of Needs (Petty, 2009, p. 55). I found that the Learners were open and appreciative of my subject. I understood that a diverse group like this did not have much precise subject knowledge, but they were eager and appreciative learners. I believe I delivered in a modest way and explained the language of my subject clearly and slowly to include all levels.

Teaching Strategies

The teaching Strategy that I employed was a Question and Answer approach. This strategy was guided by a pre-selected image order, with delivery and questions loosely following the photographs displayed on a Story Board and PowerPoint. I built on knowledge of this subject within the learners by connecting with a general appreciation of the subject and readily recognisable tools and language. From this point I developed and informed the learner, and hoped to progress and add to their appreciation of my craft. This was done by showing contemporary images that brought the craft to a very modern and believable point. I hoped by showing my examples, and other approachs of this craft, that the low level expectancy of experiencing this skill was lifted, and made accessible for all to enjoy and feel they could take part in some or all of the process.

To add to this approach, there are three approaches to Strategies as outlined by Rees and Walker (2007 p107). A large Group, A small group and Individual. I will refer to a small group as this was the case on the day. Strategy’s include;

Seminars; with students involvement in Small groups can afford effective interaction and learning . This could apply when you present the subject before hand and ask them to research , could be fun!!

Workshop; usually very enjoyable for learners, as it appears real. This approach could be incorporated into my lesson but is best suited for the subsequent Lessons(5)

Gaming/Quiz; Students usually enjoy these. This approach could well be used with my delivery in the form of a printed questionnaire for Groups/ Individuals.

Brainstorming; Perhaps a good group approach which could be used to develop the style and shape function of a proposed structure

Buzz Groups; In my case this could be merged into the above category, where you have several groups coming up with ideas.

Field Trip; Can be a very valuable and rewarding experience. For Post and Beam I highly recommend it.

Rope play; specific to another discipline perhaps not for the skill delivery I intend, other than lead by example.

Ice Breaker; If used with care in a non threatening way, this type of approach could establish a good group identity very soon. I might use an approach like this when delivering the subsequent Lessons.

Simulation; Could be used as perhaps the only method to get students to appreciate the real situation. In my situation I could perhaps get the group to assemble the Teaching model/Aid and handle a scaled down version of a Mortice& Tenon joint

Case Study Take a lot of preparation, that brings realism into the lesson. Perhaps could be used to pland a structure with different needs built in

Methods of Motivation

I am aware of and follow the code of ethics as described within CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TRAINEE TEACHERS (Peace M, Programme Director). With this in mind, the main method of motivation was delivered through my love and enthusiasm for the subject. I encouraged learners with positive responses to their answers and making the subject believable to all, with examples given. I believe that by raising the learner’s expectations and making it believable I increased the motivation to learn more, and galvanise the desire to get involved with the process . Several learners approached me post delivery and said they would love to have a go with the subsequent Lessons. My approach to motivation is well documented by (Petty, 2009). It is rather poignant to read about a prisoner smashing his sell up to get a further sentence in order to finish a cookery course

Assessment Methods

This was done through a Q&A approach. I relied on our course Tutor for my feed back regarding the session. I plan to have a questionnaire that is well taught out and topic specific, for the next teaching session . It would perhaps be delivered in small groups and allow three minutes for the task. I mistakenly thought that with enthusiasm and solid delivery there would be little or no need for assessment. However on reflection and a good critique I now know differently . A questionnaire with labels and parts for recognition could be in order ,in conjunction with The Teachers Aid model building and an example of some joinery in scaled down form.(Petty 2009)recommends consulting widely after the delivery and suggests that it would be most useful and rewarding to both teacher and learner. He mentions the learners’ appreciation in being consulted and the economic cost comparison between being trained and not.

I am aware of learners need for continual education and accreditation irrespective of the subject, At present Iam graded to NVQ Level 3, in this subject and partially graded for assessing at that standard. For future delivery I plan to complete the assessor course and then can deliver an accreditation at this level

Professional Standards (Life Long Learning UK, 2007)

AP1.1 Encouraging all learners through recognising individual motivation, experience and aspirations, when I give a Lesson.

I believe I delivered on this

AP6.1 Conform to all statuary requirements and apply codes of practice to Post & Beam construction.

I realise that I have to improve on this by delivering on Health and Safety. I failed to do this. I have started research via H&SE for information leaflets on specific tool handling

BK2.2 Ways to encourage motivate and encourage active participation of learners and learner independence, in lesson through Image discussion.

I have acknowledged this weakness earlier

BS 5 Using a rang of learning resources to support learners, using ICT, story board, tools& materials.

I believe I delivered on this, but I'm aware I can up my delivery standard.

AS 2 Learning its potential to benefit people emotionally, intellectually, socially and economically, and its in contribution to community sustainability. This will be demonstrated through ease of construction of these beautiful structures. Ibelieve I delivered on this in a good way

Resources

I delivered with several types of resources for the learner. In addition to those mentioned previously, I had a comprehensive portfolio, various books, one appropriate brochure and all essential tools. I would like to have had more timber available. In addition to these I would next time have various examples of the different woods on show for the learners to touch and smell. Something for the future!!! Thanks to (Carries & Natalie)

My week on placement

Well,...... quite surreal... for starters.... Lionel what are you doing here!!!!!. a big hug....Now Im starting out on the other side with people asking me. How do you deal with a student who is not very keen on the subject... a very real issue. Your not feeling well, perhaps you should go home...  do you know that what you do will be graded as part of your overall marks....All these taught s cross my mind......Id better consult with my head of Sculpture who's wing I'm under today.... and so the day goes on.... Generally I have been blessed to have landed into Foundation Year with a great group of teachers and students..... till later

Explain Everything as atool to explain topic that is relevant to my skills

I now have included the link for Explain everything , below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b00ZeszvjP4. I wish to record my self tomorrow giving my Lesson  guided by Lesson plan. What a fantastic tool/ App. I will have to go and learn it for tomorrow. Many days later I am still relieved that the lesson delivery went well.... as did many others. We all ...dare I say.... were surprised by ourselves. What hugely interesting subjects
I DO HOPE EVERY ONE EVENTUALLY GETS PLACEMENT AS WE HAVE GELLED AS A GROUP VERY WELL INDEED.
Every good wish

Morning all,
To get my Gut feeling out of the way I think the answer to the question posed, by the Post name, is that it would be Fab. .
We had a wonderful  presentation by Simon Pridham author of a brand new book called "Freaked Out". My informed decision would be supported by his research and findings to start with. However this does beg the question of selling product within University, an ever present issue.

I must get back to my Project for this week coming, the delivery of a Lesson Plan (Petty G,  2009 P442-449) and the backup photos, if the computer world lets me down on the day. Print, print, print

Blues be Gone

I removed the cover of my machine and took out the Ram Drives  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ RAM_drive dusted them off , wiped the contact points with a clean cotton cloth, PRESTO, my computer is working again. There are 4 in mine, 2 original and 2 more that were put in a few months ago. The Rams are long and slim and are held in place with clips that bend back to allow removal. They CLIP back when restored to their original position. So with good advise that I trusted it was quite painless and straight forward!!! Please excuse my linking Wikipedia, but was easy and painless, and I do believe their definition at the top of the page

computer failures the Blues

I'm currently working on the inner part of my main computer with guidance from my pal in Ireland to re start  it. I will let you know how it goes. I am currently using my Samsung back up lap top. Bye for now

Pinterest and its connectiions to the world

Last night I spent some time developing my Pinterest account http://uk.pinterest.com/pin/516858494709178217/. I came across a  Thatched Dog house in a garden on Long Island . I was commisionedby an architect from Oyster Bay along with two pals we created a dog house that was auctioned  for a charity. I would be very surprised if this image was not the same structure
I intend to contact all the various peopkle involved to share my joy and relive the fun we had almost 20 years ago. The image appeared on the rear cover of Fine Home Building http://www.finehomebuilding.com/ a few years later credited to Creswell and Powell, which is correct. I just tried sending a message to the cloud of Pinterest . asking for contact with the author of the photo, lets see what happens!!!!

Review of sculptorandsculptureblogspot.com

Background.

I like the clear background. I this allows the different subjects to be seen. There is no confusion to the presentation. The viewer can at a glance go straight to their choices.

Text& Comments

The information is very informative. However there are no references or links. The author runs through the various artists career and lives as if reading from a gallery hand out, with his own words. The delivery is clear and easy to read. The author may have missed critical points in the artist’s career (Serra, Tilted Arc). There are also some unusual uses of words, in describing an idea, in this same article. This may not be very distracting to the general viewer, but may point to a weakness in the content of the Blog’ information. http://sculptorandsculpture.blogspot.co.uk/

Layout.

The layout of this blog is easy on the eye but quite simple. The posts are distinct but some are repeated in a side menu that have no titles but share the same picture. A search bar would have been helpful but there is a concise list of categories on the left and above this there is a good list of additional blogs and resources.

Photos.

The quality of the pictures on “Sculpture and Sculpture” are very good and appear to be, on the whole, of a professional quality. Being a blog about sculpture the quality of the photography is fundamental and on this point they have been successful, the images are vibrant and engaging.

Microsoft applications!!!!

Good evening,
My experience of Microsoft applications. The first thing that comes to mind is the extraordinary building called the EMP  in Seattle Washington State US. This building was created by the moneys of Clive Allen (founding member of Microsoft). In my opinion a very good APPLICATION of the proceeds of the Microsoft.http://villageofjoy.com/50-strange-buildings-of-the-world-part-iii/

The building was built around the turn of the Millenium and is entirely for rock music  its heritage, experimenting and performing. Hence the name Experience Music Project. This was designed by Frank Geary,http://www.biography.com/people/frank-gehry-9308278 world Renouned Architect (Guggenheim Bilbao). At the time it cost $52Million. There was a lot of resistance localy to have this imposed on the City, but this may well have abated. Not unlike Sydney Opera House.More on Seattle and Microsoft applications 2morrow

Hi all,
Im starting over and happily embarking on a PGCE here in South Wales, allowing for a level of panic . We have fantastic teachers who are fun. I'm surrounded by a great and diverse group of potential teachers. We all come from many diverse backgrounds, and as many different stories on the way here.
